What is Paan?
Paan originated from the Sanskrit word ‘Parna’ (पर्ण) also called Betel leaf in English. Paan has a history of 5000 years from Indian mythology to Ayurveda. Paan (also known as Tambol) roots are deeply connected with Indian culture and inseparable part of all auspicious occasions as a sacred offering to deities.
Paan is a symbol of prosperity, love, fertility and as a tradition gifted for good fortune or offered to visiting guests as a sign of respect. The medicinal properties of paan have been also recognised by ancient Indian scholars to modern scientists and known for digestive aid and other medicinal purposes.
